SING FOR SHELTER

Sing for Shelter is an ambitious project taking place throughout 2019, bringing together choirs and singers across the UK with one common goal: to help combat the homelessness crisis we face.

SMVC will be learning A Place To Call Home and will, eventually, post  avideo of the recording on the Sing For Sheler Facebook and Just Giving Page, helping to raise funds for SHELTER.

The piece is composed by Alex Woolf

You can download the backing track for the piece below and more information is available from http://alex-woolf.com/singforshelter

LADIES COMMITTEE
We are looking for new volunteers for the Ladies Committee and we offer a more detailed summary of the situation here.

Over to Cherie Lewis, chair of the committee,  who is addressing the choir womenfolk...
"Since 1961 the Ladies Committee has been supporting the wellbeing of the choir by providing refreshments at practice and at concerts and making much-welcomed contributions to choir funds from regular raffles. But committee membership is now down to six, some of whom are not well, and we are becoming  desperate. Unless we can add a few names to our rota l fear that the time may come when we will have to withdraw our support.

So, if you could possibly commit a couple of hours each month we would be so pleased. Phone me (Tel.9266 9892) and we will be delighted to fit you in!"
